Lucia Rapalyea
Lucia Rapalyea is the head trainer at Lucia Rapalyea Dressage and owner of Creekside Equestrian Center , and head trainer of Shadowridge Equestrian Center. Lucia spent a year as a working student in Holland with Bert Rutten, former Dutch Olympic rider and internationally know Dutch Warmblood breeder. Lucia's current Dutch Warmblood FEI mount, Amani, is one of Bert's horses, acquired when Amani was just a 4 year old. After 7 years in the show ring together, they are now competing at Intermediare-1.
In 2016, Lucia and Amani were Region 7 USDF Intermediare-1 Freestyle Champions, and received the coveted invitation to take their I-1 Freestyle to the national dressage finals in Kentucky. For 2018, the pair looks forward to entering into the CDIs and competing on the Small Tour, while training the Grand Prix at home. Lucia is a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist, and has also earned the USDF Bronze Bar for Freestyle.
